Radio Ads

The Be a Star campaign was originally launched across 4 PCT’s; Central Lancashire, Bolton, East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. Pooling budgets enabled the outdoor, poster and digital campaign to be complemented by adverts running on local radio stations, Rock FM, Magic and 2BR.

You can listen to them by clicking on the files below.

    Hi Form Argentina!
I´m a mother who is breastfeeding my litlle Sofía and this campaign is making me feel a SUPERSTAR!!! Tks for supporting breastfeeding, its benefits are enourmous and besides, to breastfeed is the most magical act a mother can do.

Excellent!! The emotions sound genuine, nothing contrived. I love the concept and the way it sound so positive–nothing negative to turn people away.

Good job! Loved the opening with applause and confusion, and the proud family member explaining what’s going on. Next step: TV - if the listening public can handle hearing this, they can handle seeing it as well, right? These both left me grinning.

Great upbeat message! Short, sweet, and to the point…and non-controversial. Now, maybe the USA will hop on board and produce some good ads for us that will promote wellness and normalness rather than controversy.

Fabulous! I love it that it is not the mothers, but family members who are praising these women. For far too long most ads have been focused on the women and not those who support them. Great work.

Now you have to get some “stars” who are, shall we say, “voluptuously” beautiful — to go along with your other very beautiful women. I am always struck by how some larger women can also look spectacular while breastfeeding.

Lovely ads - the voices sound so proud, just as they should be! I’m just sad that in the Western world, breastfeeding should be considered amazing. Yet, of course it is amazing, even where it is normal and usual….

I love it–will be linking my lactation educator course to this website to see how effectively you are sending out messages that will help to bring about a cultural shift in support of breastfeeding

Congratualations on wonderful work, well done!

Congratulations on a job well-done. Good messages and encouragement. I wish we had something like that here in the US!

Well done! It has a flashy, cool atmosphere, not too soft, but empowering. I like the two perspectives (mother and partner) and the fact that a man’s voice speaks in the rest of the ad. Good luck, with these ones and maybe the ones to come!
