Breastfeeding is an amazing achievement. Not just for the babies that benefit from the nutrients that only real baby milk contains, but also for their mums, partners and families.

The Be a Star campaign is dedicated to increasing the number of young mums who choose to breastfeed. We hope to do this by showcasing the beauty, confidence and pride that comes with breastfeeding, as well as highlighting the unique health benefits that it brings to both baby and mum. The campaign has been informed at all stages by the opinions and experiences of real, local, young breastfeeding mums.

Be A Star is for young mums, by young mums, and the gorgeous girls you see fronting the campaign are also real, local, young mums, breastfeeding their babies. For more details on these inspirational women, visit our ‘Stars’ section.

The campaign will target over half a million people, using a range of tactics including a radio, outdoor marketing in shopping centres, advertising in bus shelters and on buses, posters in Children’s Centres, libraries, colleges, GP surgeries as well as a variety of information leaflets and YouTube viral.

We have created this blog to make it as easy as possible for you to get involved in our growing community of breastfeeding mums – to take part topical discussions, share tips and support other mums with your advice and experience. You can also access information in the main section of the blog and locate your nearest children’s centre local support section.
